"Following their critically acclaimed debut album, released earlier this year on Sir Runnin’ Records, the extraterrestrial dub explorers return with another heavyweight release. Once again, UFO Collective delivers their unique blend of deep roots and heavy dub—this time in the form of a brandnew 7” record on BCSM.
If you’re searching for a roots tune with an otherworldly twist, “Desert Roots” is exactly what you’ve been waiting for. Driven by a thunderous bassline and a rock-solid rhythm, the track rolls through an endless desert landscape in search of the next dub session. Deeply rooted in the traditions of classic soundsystem culture while reaching far beyond earthly boundaries, this production is made for selectors, soundsystems, and lovers of authentic dubwise music alike.
The soaring horn melodies of Moonshine Horns perfectly complement the meditative atmosphere that is powerful and hypnotic. Bringing everything together is Unlisted Fanatic, whose unmistakable dub production adds layer upon layer of depth, space, and sonic detail. Every element has its place, resulting in a tune that feels equally at home on a heavyweight stack or spinning on your turntable late at night.
And if the original cut isn’t enough to send you into orbit, simply flip the record. The dub version takes the journey even further, dissolving into a rich landscape of echo, delay, spring reverb, and earth-shaking bass. It’s a deep meditation in sound—an immersive trip through the outer reaches of dub, where every drop, fade, and effect pulls you deeper into the mix.
Prepare for another heavyweight submission as the infamous UFO Collective returns to lift you into higher dimensions. Buckle up, drop the needle, and let “Desert Roots” guide you on a cosmic dub journey. "
