"Revisiting the collaborative guided meditations that launched Ash Brooks & Matt LaJoie's new age musical path in a Portland gemstone shop five years ago, Starbirthed offers a definitive recorded version of their foundational Loving-Kindness meditation. Adapted from the Buddhist metta bhavana practice, Ash Brooks leads the listener through progressive stages of expanding compassion via heart-centered awareness, beginning with one who is personally dear to the meditator, working up to someone difficult to get along with or even despised, and ending with the self (for many the most difficult to accept and send unconditional love to). In times when the collective consciousness is deeply invested in strict lines of polarity, with much public communication dedicated to maintaining the illusion of separation, this meditation opens doors in the heart closed off by disagreement, discouragement, and derision, expanding the vibration of acceptance and wishes for well-being on our planet and all incarnate here; a necessary reminder that all are worthy of unconditional love.

Matt LaJoie's cosmic electric guitar trails support the spoken meditation on the A-side, while Ash joins in on synth for the all-instrumental B-side version. The cassette also includes a small strawberry quartz gemstone to aid in the meditation practice."
