地理学者であるJay Appletonが動物行動心理学に基づき提唱した眺望・隠れ場理論をコンセプトにした、アンビエント・フォーク〜ボサノバ〜ラウンジ〜アンビエント・ハウス14曲を収録。本エディション限定の未発表曲も収録しています。

"1975年、地理学者のジェイ・アップルトンは空間美学の眺望 – 隠れ場理論を提唱し、人間は物理的環境が広がり（眺望）と閉じこもり（隠れ馬）の均衡をもたらすことで恩恵を受けると示唆した。このアルバムは、音楽を通して眺望と隠れ場のモデルを解釈し、特に子供のような驚きを与える電子音響アレンジメントの中で、パノラマと封じ込めのバランスをとっている。

眺望 – 隠れ場の原則の適応は、つかみどころがないことが判明した。4年間のレコーディング期間では、標準的なスタジオテクニックを避け、より直感的な方法、つまりこのプロジェクトのインスピレーションとなった繊細な情景を伝えることのできる新しいツールの語彙を選んだ。

忠実度の高いフィールドレコーディングを行うのではなく、自然のサウンドスケープをシンセサイザーで再構築し、親密で綿密な模倣行為を行った。その結果、環境的な雰囲気はアルバムのダイナミックで幾何学的な構成とシームレスに溶け合い、周囲の地形と共生して建てられた住居に例えられる。

現代音楽のパラダイムを形成しているのは大作かもしれないが、これらの作品は、力強さよりも優しさへの静かなコミットメントを体現しており、平凡な暮らしの平明な魅力を反映している。"

"In 1975, geographer Jay Appleton proposed the "prospect-refuge" theory of spatial aesthetics, suggesting that human beings benefit from physical environments offering an equilibrium between parameters of expansiveness (prospect) and enclosure (refuge). This album interprets the prospect-refuge model through music, counterbalancing panorama and containment within electroacoustic arrangements that impart an especially childlike wonder.

The adaptation of prospect-refuge principles proved elusive. A four year recording period eschewed standard studio technique in favor of a new lexicon of tools - more intuitive methods which could convey the delicate scenes that inspired the project.

Rather than capturing high fidelity field recordings, natural soundscapes were reconstructed with synthesizers in an intimate, meticulous act of imitation. As a result, environmental ambience blends seamlessly with the album's dynamic, geometrical compositions, analogous to a dwelling built in symbiosis with the surrounding terrain.

While larger than life productions may shape the modern musical paradigm, these pieces embody a quiet commitment to tenderness-over-power that reflects the plain enchantment of ordinary living."

The Wixáritari (plural of Wixárika) are indigenous to the Sierra Madre Occidental mountain range in Northwestern Mexico and have existed there for over 15,000 years. In that time they have developed a rich cultural tradition, in which \"hikuri\" (commonly called peyote in Spanish) plays a central role as a medicine and spiritual teacher. In this rare recording, Muwieri Xaure presents us with a new collection of original songs that unify the musical traditions of his native San Andrés and Santa Catarina while also expressing his relationship with Mextiza and Mexican culture.\u003c\/em\u003e\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cem\u003eLike so many indigenous cultures, the Western constructs of modernity and progress have placed the Wixárika's ancient practices at risk of extinction. The encroachment of large mining corporations and other business interests has seen their consecrated lands being sold off to private entities and exploited for their resources\u003cspan class=\"bcTruncateMore\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e, making their pilgrimages increasingly difficult and threatening the endemic plant and animal species with which their heritage is intertwined.\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eRecently in December of 2020, following Wixárika tradition, Eusebio hosted a three-day ceremony to pass on his leadership position of the La Laguna. He has held this position for the last two years, managing and manifesting many benefits in their community such as public lighting, construction of a tiled roof and a communal kitchen in the police station, and the building of a hydraulic concrete road. The Wixáritari (plural of Wixárika) are indigenous to the Sierra Madre Occidental mountain range in Northwestern Mexico and have existed there for over 15,000 years. In that time they have developed a rich cultural tradition, in which \"hikuri\" (commonly called peyote in Spanish) plays a central role as a medicine and spiritual teacher. Mare Nectaris’ “the comedy and the sourcery” is one such work, having gestated for almost ten years before finally arriving on the Transitory Tapes label.\u003c\/em\u003e\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cem\u003eThe piece is curious in that it was the artist’s first ever recording project. Mare Nectaris (Gabriella Molina), who is better known for her mesmeric collage animations (see the captivating video for the album's single below for a taste), says that she was “exploring the jungle that dwells in my subconscious.” Speaking on the experience she says, “I went through a crazy healing experience and had a shocking amount of energy, and then just got sucked into music. It consumed my will to do anything else.\"\u003c\/em\u003e\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cem\u003eThis organic infatuation comes through in a special way on the record, whose gentle live-looped improvisations effortlessly capture an innocent spontaneity that many more practiced performers can struggle to achieve.
