i am thankful for what these past five years have brought my way. it has certainly been very difficult, but above all, it has lead me to meet so many cool people and work with some of my heroes. if there's anything i want people to take away from Retrac, it's that the internet is a very small place and you should use it for meeting like-minded folks, rather than to isolate yourself. or build unnecessary walls.
RETRAC 5ELEK is a double album compilation, showcasing what i feel are the two most prominent sides of Retrac, that being the loud, brash and noisy, and on the other hand, more surreal, dream-like, hypnagogic works. i have separated the two sides into its own disc that can be bought separately, or together as a limited edition gatefold! both feature signature artwork from Retrac mainstay Caybee Calabash on the labels, as well as the digital artwork.
this compilation is non-profit, hence why it is so cheap and DIY, so I and all the artists involved encourage you to get in on this piece of retrac history!"
