"Influenced in part by the eclecticism of the Dublin scene, but with an affinity for gritty, experimental iterations of techno, SJUSH weaves influences from past pioneers and future visions into a unique strand of hard-hitting dance music. Drawing here from classic hard techno, electro, and breaks, but with a sonic palette coloured by dubstep and jungle, Temper Shift slams the gas pedal for a relentless upwards spiral.
Opener ‘Dead Space’ lays down a torrent of marching drums carried by a grimey, metallic steppers melody. Jumping up a gear for a frantic take on electro, ‘Out My Mind’ takes its cues from classic era dubstep for a real headspin.
Lead single ‘5am on the U8’ jumps into a peaktime slot with mutating industrial lines and bouncing kicks, carving out a swirl of spatial acoustics that will turn any dancefloor upside down.
‘Miffed’ takes a turn closer towards madness with unhinged glitches flying upwards at lightning speed, arriving at ‘Exit World’, a cavernous take on breaks-y electro, finding the energy source and ramping it up that wee bit further.
