"South London duo Ashcircle make improvised music to cope with the chaos of overwhelming information and Tory governments. They organise "Cliff-Edge", a regular show of “improv for end-times” at Hundred Years Gallery in Hoxton. Level Up Everywhere was recorded with Bastl Microgrannies loaded with reed and whistle samples in mid October 2021.

Sputtering and guttural, Level Up Everywhere expresses what we’re all feeling. Fight against a decade of Tory rule with this collection of brash, middle finger sounds. Feral Digi-Concrète for the end times."

We all lived in Huddersfield between 2019 and 2020 when these pieces were either performed, composed or produced, but none of us was indigenous. We were all foreigners in this small town known for the music and sonic arts program of the University of Huddersfield and for hosting HCMF.\u003c\/em\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cem\u003eAs a curator, it interests me how our experience in Huddersfield reflects on these pieces either in an unconscious or in a deliberate way. After all, Huddersfield is a connecting line that holds this diverse and dissimilar collection of pieces together. As\u003c\/em\u003e\u003cspan class=\"bcTruncateMore\"\u003e\u003cem\u003e Eduardo Viveiros de Castro writes, the outputs of contemporary anthropology and ethnography are co-authored pieces in which the researcher receives an image (sound) in which they is unable to recognize themself.
