"ボリビアのタリハ近郊の山岳地帯にあるロシージャスという小さな村の中心部、メインストリートの曲がり角で、水たまりで休んでいる両生類のプレウロデマ・シネリウムの群れが、通りを車や人が通らない限り止まることなく歌っている。隣の家ではお祭り騒ぎで、もっと遠くでは他のPleurodema cinereumが肺のてっぺんで歌っている。
カエルノイズウォール対サウンドシステム、1年の終わりのお祝い。"

"私は数年間、メキシコシティの中心部アラメダ公園の角にある1950年に建てられたアパートに住んでいた。3階の大きなバルコニーは、私の耳元で繰り広げられるメキシコの生活（夜のバー、週末のマーケット、2台のスピーカーを囲んで踊るグループ、政治的な集会、時には暴力的で扇動的な抗議活動など）を眺めるのに理想的な視点（そしてリスニングスポット）だった。ここでは、9月16日の独立記念日を祝う軍事パレードを聞くことができる。"

In the center of the small village of Rosillas, located in the montains near Tarija in Bolivia, in the bend of the main street, resting in a puddle, a community of Pleurodema cinereum amphibians sings without stopping unless a car or someone passes in the street. The house next door is celebrating, futher away other Pleurodema cinereum singing at the top of their lungs.

I lived for a few years in Mexico City, right in the center, on the corner of Alameda Park, in a 1950s apartment that was still resisting (at the time) real estate gentrification. The large balcony on the 3rd floor was an ideal viewpoint (and listening spot) to take in the Mexican life unfolding beneath my ears: the bars at night, the weekend market, dancing groups around two speakers, political gatherings, or sometimes violent and agitated protests. Here, you can hear the military parade for the celebration of Independence Day on September 16th.
