"Zoltan Fecso’s Other Air is a dense tapestry of field recordings, aqueous synthesis, chattering texture and glistening sheen. Written during a month-long stay in Merimbula, on Yuin Land in southern New South Wales, it’s the sound of opening up to experiencing new sounds in new environments; music made to draw attention to the physicality of sound and place.

Beginning with a solitary tone that multiplies and blossoms into a high frequency mist, the album comes alive slowly but intentionally, gradually introducing a chorus of swirling electro-acoustic textures. From there, field recordings are processed into uncanny shapes and set against fluid electronic gestures, the line between the two blurred so thoroughly as to render the distinction impossible - and unnecessary. Throughout it all, Fecso demonstrates a keen awareness of the air itself as a medium for sound to travel through, meticulously constructing abstract sonic sculptures as if with clay.

He says 'This album came during a big time of change musically and in life more broadly. Going on walks and recording sounds helped me to think - also to not think, but listen. Thank you to David George Haskell, whose book ‘Sounds Wild and Broken’ tuned me in, and to Andrew Pekler and TIBSLC for inspiring.'"
