I divorced it from its neck some years ago due to an unfixable neck-block crack which was producing an alarming and uncontrollable escalation in the instrument's string action. The removal of the neck forced me to look at the thing differently, as if it were still an instrument and not just a wooden box. I developed new approaches involving electronics, kinetic and percussive investigations and a feedback loop system.
