Dasa Tapes:

"Inflorescence is defined as the arrangement of flowers on a branch or a system of branches. It is determined by how the flowers blossom on a stem, the arrangement on the stem, how many blossom together, and the timing of the growth.

Each track on this album is a technical term that refers to either a category of inflorescence or part of the flower. The improvised music on this record feels like its own hybrid of organic machinery, a kind of animal or plant, with its own timing, biochemical reactions and evolution. Each movement is its own cluster, perhaps spinning or whirling, slowly transforming in its own dreamtime.

Jane is working with her flutes and an Ableton Max 4 Live patch she designed for improvising. Nathan is playing Sidrax, Volca Drum, various effects pedals, and a Monome Norns Shield. The two offer their own sound worlds while also creating a hybrid amalgamation of sonic textures that was achieved through trust, openness and curiosity, of which we both have plenty."
