Full Spectrum Records:

"Full Spectrum Records presents a kaleidoscopic wonder of a collaboration from Kaho Matsui and more eaze – ‘Computer and Recording Works for Girls.’

These artists require little introduction. For her part, more eaze is a long-standing member of the FS family, most recently gracing our catalog with her ‘Two Futures’ single, while Matsui has spent the past few years patiently routing a blissful furrow in the emo ambient continuum from her home in Philadelphia.

Recorded primarily at more eaze’s New York City apartment during the waning days of 2023, the album compiles a series of single take improvisations that were overdubbed, arranged, and edited to create the final work, atomizing guitar, computer-mangled found sounds, synthesizers, and the futurist glissando of auto tuned vocal harmony into a fine digital mist.

Captured and assembled in rapid succession – during one notable afternoon, the duo recorded four entire songs in a single sitting – the album very much captures the spirit of its title as it incorporates aesthetic references from the duo’s vast constellation of collaborations and solo projects, traversing harsh noise, indie rock, and ambient, with the ever-so-slight hue of dance music’s plastic pulse ticking about the periphery.

Occasionally, the album’s digital soup coalesces around a glimmer of honest-to-goodness pop music, grounding the listener with a discrete arrangement. “Even the more straightforward songs here come from a desire to see how our sounds could be sculpted around another artist’s melodic / compositional sensibilities,” more eaze explained via text.

“I think this was really just a project to appreciate the fun of recording and the friendship we have,” added Matsui. “With each other and all of our other friends.”

Pop ambient in the truest sense, come glide with us into the electric sunset.
