-------------------------

"Qoa, also known as Nina Corti from Buenos Aires, creates objects that are part visual and sonic to construct a much larger work. She crafts a home-baked cosmos where drone and collage come together as rhythmic convolutions and spectral microcosms. In the maze of conductivity, her sounds move in unique ways, fusing together like molecules in a chemical process.

Achiyaku is an ode to reflections in the water, to silently listening to the river, perhaps the oldest drone. Sound affects the movement of water and if our body is made up of mostly water then it also resonates. There is an ocean in each of us that drenches us in imperceptible vibrations. Our internal resonance is not only a perception but material and aquatic.

An exploration of sound materiality making use of different field recordings that I accumulated, on cassette, on tape recorders, on the telephone, with an interest in the different types of compression and what happens when they convolve with each other to create errant sounds and phantom streams."
