イギリスのテクノ作家Al Woottonが、2025年6月に自身主宰レーベルTruleからリリースした12"です。

実験テクノ8曲を収録。

"2025年1月、Al Woottonはオーストラリアのメルボルン・エレクトロニック・サウンド・スタジオに招かれた。Alは複数のドラムマシンのそれぞれのリズム、特性、癖を利用したレコーディングを行った。これらの録音はイギリスに持ち帰られ、リズム・アーカイヴを制作するために様々な加工や追加が施された。

出来上がったレコードは、インダストリアル、ダブ、ポストパンク、プロト・テクノのサウンドを介したリズムのミニマルな探求である。これらのマシンとその製作者、そしてこれらの楽器やその他の楽器の膨大なアーカイブを管理し、一般への公開と教育を優先しているメルボルン・エレクトロニック・サウンド・スタジオのようなリソースへの賛辞である。"

"In January 2025 Al Wootton was invited to Melbourne Electronic Sound Studio in Australia, home to a unique collection of rare vintage drum machines. Al made recordings of multiple drum machines utilising their individual rhythms, characteristics and quirks. These recordings were taken back to the UK and treated with various processes and additions to create Rhythm Archives.

The resulting record is a minimal exploration of rhythm via industrial, dub, post-punk and proto-techno sonics. It is a tribute to these machines and their creators, and resources such as Melbourne Electronic Sound Studio who maintain a huge archive of these and other instruments, prioritising public access and education."
