イギリスの民俗研究レーベルFolklore Tapesが、2025年3月にリリースしたコンピレーションレコードです。 Folklore Tapesのメンバーたちが行った演劇「イーグルクラッグの魔女」のスタジオスコア、ライブスコアを収録。ブックレットとDLコード付属。ゲートフォルド仕様です。 ※デジタル音源をご希望の場合はお気軽にご連絡をお願いいたします 以下、レーベルによる解説です。 "Folklore Tapesは、ウェストヨークシャーヴァイナルシリーズの幕開けとして、FTアーティストのブリジット・ヘイデン、ダン＝ブリッグウッド＝ホール、ラムゼイ・ジャニーニ、サム・マクローリン、デイヴィッド・チャットン・バーカーによる「イーグルクラッグの魔女」の物語の見事な音楽化をお届けする。 イーグルクラッグは、鷲の頭の形をした有名な岩場で、トッドモーデン郊外のリドゲートにあるカルダー渓谷にある。イーグルクラッグの魔女は、もともとジョン・ロビーの著書『ランカシャーの伝統』で発見された。この物語は、魔法と貪欲と悲劇の物語である。レディ・シビルという名の若い魔女が、他のどの魔女よりも優れた超自然的な力を得るために悪魔と契約する。彼女は貪欲なタウンリー卿に追われ、噂される財産を手に入れるためだけにシビルの結婚を望む。タウンリーは老魔女マザー・ヘルストンの助けを借り、鹿の姿になったシビルを捕まえる狡猾な呪文を披露する...。 2024年初頭、マクローリンとチャットン・バーカーはこの物語を、影絵、手描きナレーション、自動風景、まばゆい光の投影を取り入れた、没入型のライブ・スペクタクルに発展させることに着手した。ショーのビジュアル面は、二人が創作し演じた（マクローリンは、雰囲気のあるSFXのバックトラックも創作した）。ライブショーは、2024年3月下旬にトッドモーデンのトッドフェローズ・スペースで、1日に2回だけ行われた。 ライブ・サウンドトラックは、ダン＝ブリッグウッド＝ホール（フィドル、ブズーキ）、ブリジット・ヘイデン（エレクトリック・ギター）、ラムゼイ・ジャニーニ（フルート）によって演奏され、大部分が即興で作られた。 このライヴは録音され、マスタリングされ、この特別盤のB面として収録されている。アナログ・プロジェクターやトーチのクリック音、人形のざわめき、時折聴衆から聞こえる咳やささやき声など、演劇的なライヴオデッセイを楽しむことができる。 ライブの2週間後、アーティストたちはスタジオに入り、ライブの即興から生まれたテーマをさらに発展させた。マクローリンとバーカーが監督し（2人はパーカッションとハルモニウムで軽快な伴奏を担当）、ブリッグウッド・ホール、ヘイデン、ジャニーニのメイン・トリオは、チェロ、フルート、アンプ、フィドルからなるクラシカルな室内アンサンブルのアプローチを探求し、カルダー渓谷の風景とこの古典的なウェストヨークシャー物語の重要なテーマを難なく呼び起こした。" レーベルその他作品はこちら ///...
