フランスのJean Noël RebillyとイギリスのAndrew Chalkアンビエント作家2名が、2023年4月にフランスの実験レーベルAn'archivesから300部限定でリリースした共作CDです。 クラリネットやストリングスによるアンビエント〜アンビエントドローン7曲を収録。手作りゲートフォルド仕様です。以下、Jon Daleによる解説です。 Jean Noël RebillyとAndrew Chalkは、フランスの作家であり彫刻家でもあった故セシル・ランスにオマージュを捧げています。ランスは、シュールレアリストのハンス・ベルマーの通訳エングレーバーとして有名ですが、レオノール・フィニとも仕事をし、サルバドール・ダリとも短期間仕事をしました。ランスの最もパワフルで不朽の作品は、夫で作家・芸術家のフレッド・デュとのコラボレーション（コラボレーション作品には「cf deux」のサインがありました）、あるいは自分自身で作られました。ランスの後期の作品、例えば「L'Elan Vitale」組曲や「Histoires Naturelles」シリーズでは、破壊され消滅した風景、渦巻く抽象画、未知の輝きに震える彫刻、非常に複雑なエッチングが親密さや歓喜の速度を暗示し、その後痛ましい空白へと開いていく様子が見られます。Tsillaの音楽も同様に、職人の手によるシンプルな道具で刻まれた、感情の複雑さを織り成す優しいものです。ランスと同様、RebillyとChalkも、ベースとなる素材の変容を表現しています。ランスの場合、自然の秩序は「彼女の彫刻刀の丸い流れによって、よりしなやかで不思議なものになった」とケイト・マクリッカードはかつて述べています。RebillyとChalkにとって、偉大なアーティストの影の下に置かれたこれらの7つの作品は、そのしなやかさを宿し、トーンの永遠の流れを引き出すものです。 ------------------------------...
