にて、音のインスタレーション『湿度計』として発表したものを再構成し、さらに益子でフィールドレコーディングした音の風景をコラージュしたものです。したがって、CD『湿度計』は、インスタレーションの音源をそのまま収録した記録音源というわけではありません。\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cspan data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e私にとって、サウンドインスタレーションとCDでは作業のベクトルがまるで違うものです。\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cspan data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eサウンドインスタレーションは多層的な時間を多層的なまま描くことができるものであり、一方CDはひとつの流れとして時間の多層性を表現するものである、と考えているからです。\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cspan data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e2007年5月に打ち合わせとフィールドレコーディングのため益子に数日滞在し、インスタレーションの音源製作に入る段階で、展覧会時に販売する新作CDもあるといいのでは、というお話もいただいていたのですが、その時は上記を理由に一旦お断りする形になってしまいました。\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cspan data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eインスタレーションの展示が7月一杯で終了し、8月9月は進行保留にしていたのですが、10月に入り自発的にCD音源としてまとめる作業に取り掛かりました。11月に一度益子を訪れてイメージを再確認し、デモ版として一応の完成を見たのは12月に入ってからです。\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cspan data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eCDでは、早朝、午前、白昼、夕方、夜、という５つの場面に沿って、「朝の水」「畦道にて」「湿度計」「蒼」「夜の水」という５曲で構成しました。\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cspan data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e作業は各場面ごとの時間帯にあわせて毎日少しづつ行ないました。当然のことながら、早朝と深夜では音の聴こえが異なり、また音の聴こえがもたらす心象も異なるからです。\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cspan data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e音とは、空気振動と意識が相互に浸透する現象であり、音の作業は、相互浸透の様態を観察し定着させる試みである、という考えから、そうした作業工程が必要でもあり、またこれは「響き／聴こえ」に関して様々な発見をしていく楽しい体験でもありました。\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cspan data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e１、朝の水\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cspan data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e早朝の STARNET 近くの林の中、湧き水が滴る谷の小道にて夏鳥たちのさえずりを収録。\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cspan data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e腐葉土を透過して集まってきた水滴が谷を潤し、鳥たちの水飲み場になります。\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cspan data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eインスタレーションで使用した音源を基に再生速度変調、リバース変調等の加工を施し、上記サウンドスケープとコラージュしました。\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cspan data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e木工作家・高山秀樹さんに案内していただき、高山さんのアトリエ付近でフィールドレコーディングしました。真新しい水が張られたばかりの瑞々しい水田が、陽の光でゆっくりと暖まり、蛙が鳴き始めます。\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cspan data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eはじめに音風景を構成し、インスタレーションに使用した音源をもとにギター用マルチエフェクターで演奏しドローンにしたものを重ねました。\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cspan data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e３、湿度計\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cspan data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eピアノや水琴窟、鳥や虫の声などに聴こえる音は、全て水滴の音を電子変調したものです。\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cspan data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eインスタレーションでは、完成したばかりの STARNET RECODE の梁に設置された14台のスピーカーから音がランダムに鳴る仕掛けでした。RECODE の外では虫や鳥が鳴いていて、音の風景は高館山へと続いていきます。\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cspan data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eこのインスタレーションで使用した7種類の音源をそのまま使って構成・ミックスしました。ただ、遠近法的な音の配置に疑問を持ったので、音の定位に関してかなり実験をしました。デジタル・サウンド・プロセスのソフトウェアであるmax\/MSPを用いて、ゆるいモジュレーションとランダムなパンをかけ、片方のチャンネルのみをギター用マルチエフェクターのリバーブとディレイに送り、音量や定位、エフェクトのかかり具合がランダムに移り変わるようなシステムを作りました。このシステムをリアルタイムで操作したものをハードディスクに戻し録音しました。つまり、ミックス時には、私はラップトップ上のシステムのパラメータとエフェクターのフットペダルを即興的に演奏していたことになります。\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr の中央にステレオマイクを立て、その周囲を裸足になって歩き回りながら、水の入ったガラス瓶や巻貝の貝殻で即興演奏しました。その音源を倍音律に電子変調し、ミキシングの段階で重ねました。音律の特徴が前面に出ていて、アルバム中では異色の、ちょっと不思議な雰囲気の曲と思います。\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cspan data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e12月中旬に再度STARNETを訪れ、馬場さんにデモを聴いていただき、その場でリリースが決まったのですが、その後ディレクター磯部さんとのやりとりを重ねながらミックスバランスや全体の尺等の調整をしました。この段階で、上記の複雑な（もしくは単純すぎる）作業工程のため調整ができない箇所も生じていましたが、結果的には、当初のイメージやコンセプトがかえって前面に出た音源になったと思います。この最終調整の作業は１２月後半から年明けにかけて行ないました。\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cspan data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eマスタリングは皿disc庄司広光さんの手によるものです。ディレクター磯部さんと私の立ち会いのもと、都内某所の皿discスタジオにて、１月中旬の丸一日かけて行なわれました。庄司さんの仕事にいつもながら脱帽する次第です。心より感謝を述べたいと思います。\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e12月中旬に再度STARNETを訪れ、馬場さんにデモを聴いていただき、その場でリリースが決まったのですが、その後ディレクター磯部さんとのやりとりを重ねながらミックスバランスや全体の尺等の調整をしました。この段階で、上記の複雑な（もしくは単純すぎる）作業工程のため調整ができない箇所も生じていましたが、結果的には、当初のイメージやコンセプトがかえって前面に出た音源になったと思います。この最終調整の作業は１２月後半から年明けにかけて行ないました。\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr width: 100%; height: 120px;\" seamless=\"\"\u003e\u003ca href=\"https:\/\/doteirecords.bandcamp.com\/album\/memory-of-humidity\"\u003eMemory of Humidity by Soshi Takeda\u003c\/a\u003e\u003c\/iframe\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e＜発売によせて＞\u003cbr\u003eこの企画について楽曲制作者のSoshi Takeda、デザイナーのTaizo Watanabeに打診をした3\/20、世間ではまだ緊急事態宣言も発令されておらず、オリンピックの中止も決定されていない状況だった。「三密」とか「コロナ禍」なんていう言葉が誕生したかどうかくらいの、「WITH コロナ」や「POST コロナ」なんて概念はまだ受け入れる準備はできていなかったくらいの、そんなタイミングだったと記憶している。\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e私が二人と出会ったのは遡ること2009年。調べてみると、その年の流行語には「新型インフルエンザ」がノミネートされていたようだ。「草食系男子」なんて言葉も入っているのを見ると、随分と時が流れたことを感じさせられる。彼らは大学のキャンパス内でスケートボードをしたり、ラジカセで音楽を流している、全員が長髪で革ジャンがデフォルトな集合体で\u003cspan class=\"bcTruncateMore\"\u003e、そのあたりの文化的文脈が皆無だった私にとっても以前から気になる存在であった。そんなある日、僕は「スケートボード」「KDJ」「SP-1200」「クリームシチューのオールナイトニッポン」「Chicago」などの無数の単語の羅列と共に、今は見ることも少なくなったdocomo.ne.jpのメールアドレスが記載された謎のフライヤーを見つけることになる。そこに連絡して彼らに出会ったあの夜は、思い返せば私の長い音楽の旅の最初の一日目となったのであった。そう、その夜に初めて会った僕をワンルームアパートに泊めてくれて、翌朝「まずはこのへんから始めてみろよ」と言わんばかりにChemical BrothersのSurrender、ProdigyのThe Fat of The Land、UnderworldのEverything Everythingの三枚を貸してくれたのがまさしくSoshi Takedaだった。その後、僕たちはロック研究会から部室の分譲を受け、大学キャンパス内にソファやターンテーブルを設置した部屋を得たことにより、蒸し暑くカビ臭いその部屋に24時間365日体制でたむろすることになる。森岡正博氏は草食系男子を、「異性をがつがつと求める肉食系ではない、異性と肩を並べて優しく草を食べることを願う草食系の男性のこと。」と定義したが、僕たちは同性と肩を並べて優しく学食を食べているだけで十分に幸せな大学生だった（と信じたい）。\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSoshi Takedaは僕が出会った当初から、Rolandのgroovebox(MCシリーズ)を中心とするハード機材で音楽を作っていた。10年もの歳月が流れると、音楽を作らなくなる者、レコードを買わなくなる者、音楽そのもの自体から遠ざかってしまう者も出てきたり、様々な理由で一時的にそういう状況に陥る者も少なくないが、彼は僕が知る限り途切れることなくその活動を続けている。DAM-FUNKを思わせるようなファンクネスに、琴奏者である母親からDNAレベルで受け継がれた（と僕は理解する）ノスタルジアや風情を感じさせるメロディーラインが加わるその音色は、あらゆる芸術家が切望する、聴いた瞬間に「あ、この人が作った音楽だ。」と人の脳に理解させる固有さを持っている。それは彼がシーンの文脈や立ち位置、人間関係などに依存せず、黙々と自分の音楽と向き合ってきたことからくる、純粋に音楽を生活の友とし、それが故にブレない姿勢がもたらした産物なのだろう。そんな存在がいつも身近にいて、そして感情にドキッと介入してくる美しくも切ないDeep Musicを作っていることは、僕にとって運命というには恐れ多く、この上ないラッキーであったと思う。\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e本作のタイトルであるMemory of Humidity（湿度の記憶）は、コロナ禍で制限された「外界との接触」へ馳せる思いをコンセプトにして作られたものである。失われたジメジメ感は、ある人にとっては東南アジアのリゾート地で得られるソレだったのかもしれないし、ある人にとってはセブンイレブンの前で缶ビールを飲みながら感じられるソレだったのかもしれない。ただ同時に僕たち三人にとっては、いや少なくとも僕にとっては、僕たちが二十歳前後の時間の多くを過ごしたあの部屋のソレでもある。あの頃から時が経ち、当時の仲間も散り散りになり、世の中が向かう先が更に見えなくなったこの十数年であったが、それでも変わらずに過去の記憶はいつもあの時と同じ場所に僕たちを連れていってくれるみたいだ。\u003cbr\u003e失われたものにばかり目がいってしまう今日この頃。いつになっても失われない大切な記憶を呼び起こし、今日を生きる力強さを聴いている人に届けられるような、そんな作品がここに完成したと僕は高ぶっている。\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eHumidity is a memory of humanity.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e2020年8月27日\u003cbr\u003e道程(Dotei Records） 店主・樋口拓郎\u003c\/p\u003e"}
