It’s all music, all at once, in a whorling vortex of time bending velocity.\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cem\u003eFor Vymethoxy Redspiders, who writes the release’s extensive liners, “[the music] is a transcendental outpouring of raw consciousness and firmamental emotion, more in line with the “fire music” of free jazz players like Albert Ayler and Dave Burrell or Sun Ra in his most apocalyptic moments of Moog sorcery than most of the things I long came to associate with the practice of Noise. This is perhaps the strongest disc since 1997's excellent Narcotic.\u003c\/em\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cem\u003eThe title track a mystical blend of reverberating strings and a steady break beat, with peacocks calling softly in the distance and live drumming played over top of it all. The results are irresistibly magical. Tracks that follow settle into the more ambient terrain that was explored on Gun Aramaic, but soon after comes a most energetic number called \"Jerusalem Artichoke.\" Perhaps the only misstep on the disc is the track \"Rent a Hookah,\" which has a more abrasive construction. The early albums by the Duo have proven to be embryonic blueprints for the avant-jazz \/ electronic \/ indie rock hybridizations of the time, making them majorly important moments in the articulation of the “jazz” dimensionality of the then-burgeoning \"post rock\" sound.
