"Hitherto is our second release with Montreal beatmaker Spliff Jacksun and his deepest homage to Canada's second city yet, full of glistening sonic fragments and meditations. Like his first long-form album Sanctuary, Hitherto feels perched between light and dark-tinged snapshots of unearthed memories, impressions, and emotions. It surveys the city through the echoes of his experience, reflecting the crisp monochromatic contrast of the black and white photos he took to document the beginnings of his life in the city."
