about

Publishes Feb, April, June, August, October, December

Each issue contains lengthy artist interviews delving into unusual subjects for the genre, several recurring columns, art page(s), how to's, histories of and guest columns. This is the first issue to feature an extensive review section.

ROCKER reviews all applicable material, referencing an era where you could get at least a one-sentence review in every zine. There is a list of reviewers along with their tastes (broadly) on page 56. Once a writer agrees to review your material you can expect it to be published within the next 2-3 issues. Positive reviews are not guaranteed, but the review itself is.

Subsequent issues will hopefully open with a letters-to-the-editor section. We'll reply in print if you'd like a reply, or simply print, if you have a take about something in the magazine.

Individual interviews are conducted anonymously, with no byline, in order for the paper to speak as one voice. Reviewers reveal their biases in the review section, so they are not anonymous, as a service to the artists sending review material.

Despite a pronounced editorial stance, we strive for journalistic integrity, separating advertising and editorial content when copy editing while presenting the subjects spaciously in their own light.
