We Are Busy Bodies:

"How To Unravel is about how we might fall apart, and how we find the ways to come back together again. The first half follows all of the paths that lead in circles, the tangled yarn that never finds the end. But it holds on. It’s stronger than you think. The second half is how we untangle and get made whole.

Some of the recordings were done live at Half Moon Studios in Toronto, while others were done remotely and shared, then crafted carefully to find their ways together. The album brings together an ensemble of cellists, pianists, and horn players.

Field reflects on the album creation by stating "This is an album that features several happy accidents, layers upon layers of sounds trying to fill every corner. It feels like a culmination of the work I’ve made with Kilometre Club, and my next step as an artist. It’s ambient music, but it also tries to be more than that, with inspiration and influences from post-rock, neoclassical, experimental, indie rock, electronic, and more. At moments I felt like I was creating the ambient record Bon Iver never made in 2011. Other times, I thought about some of my favourite contemporary ambient artists like Alaskan Tapes, Hollie Kenniff, Eluvium, loscil, Max Richter, and more."

How To Unravel is an ambient album that can be consumed as a whole, a narrative in texture, tone, and melody, one that works for active listening as much as it does as background music."
