"Using a limited set of sonic materials including reed instruments, truncated samples of his own voice, pristine electronic drum and synth tones, and a generative MAX patch of his own devising, London-based Giacomo Fargion imagines a person (or, a machine?) trying to express a feeling (love) but never quite being able to do so. The non-linear formations, with their very precise rhythmic components capture a feeling of hesitation, an organism assembling and disassembling the fleeting, repetitive, elements of feeling, intention, inertia, and possibility.

Prufrockian robotics aside, Love Album is elegant, surrealistic and whimsical computer music that despite its austere and aseptic sound world, manages to be anything but sterile -- like cyborg folk music from another universe."
