"2025年12月、私はアスムス・ティエチェンズやイェッツマンと共に、最後の「Hörbar Ausklang Festival」に出演した。このカセットはその際のために制作されたものだ。ここには、私のモジュラー・シンセサイザーによるライブ・パフォーマンスのための予備的な試作が収録されている。

このテープは当夜販売されず、リリースは結局今に至るまで延期されていた。一時は、自分がこれを作ったことさえほとんど忘れてしまっていた。今、ようやくここにある――だが、それで何が変わるというのか？

A面には、「Aber Was Ändert Das?（それで何が変わるというのか？）」と題された24分間の楽曲が収録されている。

Aber Was ändert Das? – コンパレータを介して結合され、フィルターバンクを経由する2つのオシレーターがこの楽曲の基盤を形成している。フィルターバンク内の8つのフィルターは、同期した8分音符の三角波によって変調される。時間の経過とともに、その変調はアバナコ（扇）のように徐々に広がり、さまざまなパターンへと変化していく。インパルスはゆっくりとノイズへと溶けていく。テクスチャーにはループしたボイステープが加わり、作品はコムフィルターをかけた正弦波のメロディーで締めくくられる。

B面には、自己生成的なパッチのいくつかのバリエーションと調整が収録されている。

"In December 2025, I performed alongside Asmus Tietchens and Jetzmann at the final Hörbar Ausklang Festival. This cassette was produced for that occasion. It contains preliminary studies for my live modular synthesiser performance.

The tape wasn't sold on the night, and its release ended up being postponed until now. At one point I had almost forgotten that I had even produced it. Now it's finally here—but what does that change?

Side A features a 24-minute piece titled Aber Was Ändert Das? (What Does That Change?)
Aber Was ändert Das? – Two oscillators coupled via a comparator and routed through a filter bank form the foundation of this piece. Eight filters within the bank are modulated by a synchronised octal triangle wave. Over time, the modulation gradually unfolds like an abanico (fan), shifting into different patterns. The impulses slowly dissolve into noise. A looping voice tape is added to the texture, and the piece concludes with a melody of comb-filtered sine tones.

Side B presents several variations and adjustments of a self-generative patch.
Quantitative Unbestimmbarkeit I-V (Quantitative Indeterminacy I–V) – At the core of these pieces is a source of uncertainty and three function generators programmed in mutual feedback. The tonal material is derived from a wave-folded sine wave, a noise source, and a pinged state-variable filter. This type of self-generative patch is commonly known as a Krell patch."

Feeling supersedes matrices, and each piece proceeds linearly, connected to one another by subtle bridging tones. The album was recorded at the historic Thomaskirche in Leipzig, Germany, where J.S. Bach was cantor for the last 27 years of his life; his body rests beneath the sanctuary. Malone is\u003c\/em\u003e\u003cspan class=\"bcTruncateMore\"\u003e\u003cem\u003e the first musician to perform contemporary works on the church’s Bach Organ, an instrument completed in 2000 but with bespoke tuning and temperament systems based on historical norms of the baroque period. By discarding canon form, which has dominated much of her organ work, there is a clear sense of freedom that allows these pieces to unfold more gradually and speak more declaratively than ever before. Even with the presence of one of the most canonized and dissected composers of all time just underfoot, Malone felt the pressure of tradition lifting, an ease of being dictating the flow of the music. It was the first time Malone had used the piano as a compositional tool since her childhood, offering a portal to a younger self. The album’s final three pieces were composed swiftly in the month preceding the recording session in 2025, their stately progressions emerging within her mind’s ear with a sense of ease and inevitability, hovering in the moment just before understanding, where revelation lives. Bach was cantor for the last 27 years of his life; his body rests beneath the sanctuary.
