With a reverential nod toward Manuel Göttsching’s 1975 psychedelic minimalist opus Inventions for Electric Guitar, each sound on this recording originated on a guitar—whether standard 6-string electric or acoustic, baritone, electric 12-string, or lap-steel—played by guitarist Nick Millevoi. Those sounds were then shaped and reassembled by Zach Goldstein, who sculpted each of the record’s six compositions to challenge the way we hear the guitar.
