The German lofi heavyweight and the UK guitarist are back with the sequel to their 2021 EP Whitecaps and another perfect soundtrack to pool parties, imaginary beach cruises and late-night bonfires. Their new album is called Mesame, which is Georgian for “the third”. The title draws on the Indian concept of the third eye chakra that provides higher consciousness and perception beyond ordinary sight and refers to the psy-chedelic influences surrounding the album’s sound. Mesame will be out September 9th digi-tally and on LP. LESKY was born in Leipzig but moved to Georgia beginning of 2021 to pursue music full-time. Creating his own soundscape fusing mellow neo soul keys, trap infused beats and samples flipped beyond recognition, he has released three EPs and one full-length album, Meraki, on Melting Pot Music, and several projects on renowned labels like Blue Note Records\/Astralwerks and Lofi Girl. FloFilz is a classically trained musician who not only plays\u003cspan class=\"bcTruncateMore\"\u003e the TR 404 but also violin.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eBokoya describe themselves as a four-headed human drum machine that play improvised beat music. You can call it jazz if you like (all four members are graduated jazz musicians) but be ready to stumble over some Dilla, Kraut Rock, Ambient or Dub in the mix. And they recorded some pretty dope music too which we had the honour to release via Melting Pot Music as the „Hi-Hat Club“ series (a title that Twit came up with). During that night in Bristol, Twit got acquainted with two young men by the name of Turt and C.Tappin. Two chilhood friends who had moved from London to Bristol for their studies and had been avid fans of Twit's music for some time.\u003c\/em\u003e\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cem\u003eBack in Cologne, Twit told me about these MCs from Bristol with whom he might record some tracks. Needless to say that I never heard about them again until summer 2017 when the annual Radio Love Love boat party was about to happen and Turt and Tappin were actually coming over for the first time, to party and to rock the mic.\u003c\/em\u003e\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cem\u003eA couple of months later we released „Hay Luv“, a new Twit album that featured Turt and Tappin on two songs. On their next visit, the two were accompanied by Turt's brother Slim, a very talented beatmaker and one half of Summers Sons. We spent some quality time while mastering the „Undertones“ EP (including remixes by Twit One, FloFilz and Cap Kendricks) and shooting the album cover at the Groove Attack record store basement. Since then we released two more album by Summers Sons („Uhuru“ - a joint project with Tappin and „The Rain“), C.Tappin's debut EP „Ashes To Ashes“ (with remixes by Reginald Omas Mamode IV, Hulk Hodn \u0026amp; Slim) and a KO-OP beat tape by Slim. At the final recording sessions in September 2019 we already knew that the next Eurostar ride would be a different one. Now with Covid-19 we have no clue when all three members of the group will be in the same room again – let alone rock a stage together.
