"Rosacea sounds as strange and demented as all the previous albums by this Norwegian one-man project (on Feeding Tube and Ultra Eczema). But it sounds right. Just like he claimed in a recent interview about his untraditional approach to writing songs: "I just make stuff until it sounds right". It sounds absolutely right in fact.

As puzzling and lunatic as he may seem, yet a sense of order emanates from the idiosyncrasies featured on this album. Ghédalia Tazartès is a cursory reference. Especially on Carmelade. However, the spectrum of sound and compositions on Rosacea manage to actually transcend the late French eccentric composer and singer.

This is truly unique."

After regularly hearing what sounded like strange renditions of Arabic classical music over the sound system, I finally asked the guy behind the counter what he was listening to. He gave me a link to one of his favorite youtube playlists. There were lots of amazing A capella moments throughout these tracks and as an experiment, I began abstracting them beyond recognition. Eventually, I started constructing more cohesive pieces around them, blending in software, extreme digital timbres and non-musical sounds. After regularly hearing what sounded like strange renditions of Arabic classical music over the sound system, I finally asked the guy behind the counter what he was listening to. He gave me a link to one of his favorite youtube playlists. There were lots of amazing A capella moments throughout these tracks and as an experiment, I began abstracting them beyond recognition. Eventually, I started constructing more cohesive pieces around them, blending in software, extreme digital timbres and non-musical sounds.
