Where their concerts have involved taking prompts and suggestive words from the audience, this time they turned to poetry by El-Saleh to inspire the music. The music spans hypnotic New Age to a kind of stormy psych-folk that builds on Knishkowy's past two instrumental works, 2021's Good Timing and 2023’s Hot Fruit. While the latter release marked Knishkowy and El-Saleh’s first collaboration—their harp playing helped crystallize that album’s unique atmosphere, somewhere between ambient Americana and spiritual jazz—it is the former that made El-Saleh a fan, providing comfort during a transitional period in their life. “It became a baseline of calm for me,” El-Saleh explained, describing how their familiarity with the contours of Knishkowy’s fingerpicking made them more comfortable finding their place alongside him. The music spans hypnotic New Age to a kind of stormy psych-folk that builds on Knishkowy's past two instrumental works, 2021's Good Timing and 2023’s Hot Fruit. While the latter release marked Knishkowy and El-Saleh’s first collaboration—their harp playing helped crystallize that album’s unique atmosphere, somewhere between ambient Americana and spiritual jazz—it is the former that made El-Saleh a fan, providing comfort during a transitional period in their life. “It became a baseline of calm for me,” El-Saleh explained, describing how their familiarity with the contours of Knishkowy’s fingerpicking made them more comfortable finding their place alongside him.
