"Urpa i musellは、1998年にNova Era – Música SecretaからCDで初リリースされた、Joan Saura（1954-2012）の『Àlbum』を再発売できることを大変光栄に思う。

『Àlbum』は、この音楽家が自身の名義で発表した唯一のアルバムであり、主に共同制作を通じて生み出された楽曲を集めた作品だ。これは、彼の多岐にわたる活動と経歴を巡る刺激的な旅路となっている。コニエツ（Koniec）のメンバー――マクロマッサ（Macromassa）やグリンゴス（Gringos）と親交のあったバンドで、いずれもその予測不可能性で知られる――、特にダンスを意図した舞台音楽の作曲家として、アンヘルス・マルガリット、アンドレス・コルチェロ、ラノニマ・インペリアルといったダンサーや振付家と共演し、ロドリ・デイヴィス、アグスティ・フェルナンデス、グラハム・ヘインズ、ピーター・コワルド、ザビエル・マリスタニ、ブッチ・モリス、 ヌノ・レベロ、エヴァン・パーカー、ジョン・ゾーン（コブラ）といった数多くのミュージシャンとの即興演奏者、ラ・オルケストラ・デル・カオスや最初の集団IBA（Improvisadors de Barcelona）といった革新的な試みの共同創設者、ブレイ・トリトノなどのバンドでの活動、70年代のオナ・ライエタナ（ジャジーなプログレッシブ・ロックに対するカタルーニャの土着的な反応）の一員、そして作曲家ガブリエル・ブルンチッチやジョアン・アルベルト・アマルゴスの弟子である。

実験音楽におけるサンプラーの先駆者として、彼は当初想定されていた分野の外でこの楽器を再文脈化した。サンプラーは彼の音楽と制作プロセスの両方に深い影響を与えた。Joan Sauraはこの楽器と技術を徹底的に使い尽くした。事前に録音された音（サンプリング）の使用は、その定義上、即興と作曲の境界を曖昧にし、両者を交差させ、重なり合わせることとなった。

Joan Sauraは同世代において極めて影響力のある人物だったが、その早すぎる逝去により、彼の音楽は本来受けるべき広範な評価を得ることができなかった。今こそこの状況を覆すべき時だ。彼の「自由は権利であるだけでなく、義務でもある」という姿勢は、かつてないほど必要とされている。皆でJoan Sauraの精神と音楽に心を満たそう！"

"Urpa i musell feel very fortunate to announce the reissue of Àlbum by Joan Saura (1954-2012), originally released on compact disc by Nova Era – Música Secreta in 1998.

Àlbum is the only record by the musician under his own name, featuring a collection of music he made mainly in collaboration, forming an exciting journey through his vast activity and background: member of Koniec –kindred with Macromassa and Gringos, all of them bands known for their unpredictability–, composer of incidental music, especially intended for dance, with dancers and choreographers such as Àngels Margarit, Andrés Corchero and Lanònima Imperial, improviser with many musicians, such as Rhodri Davies, Agustí Fernández, Graham Haynes, Peter Kowald, Xavier Maristany, Butch Morris, Nuno Rebelo, Evan Parker, and John Zorn (Cobra), co-founder of innovative experiences as La Orquestra del Caos or the first collective IBA (Improvisadors de Barcelona), in bands such as Blay Tritono, part of the 70s Ona Laietana (the Catalan vernacular response to jazzy prog rock) and student of composers Gabriel Brnčić and Joan Albert Amargós,.

A pioneer of the sampler in experimental music, he recontextualized the instrument outside the field for which it was conceived. The sampler profoundly affected both his music and his working processes. Saura squeezed the instrument and technique to the last drop. The use of pre-recorded sounds (sampling) blurred, by definition, the boundaries between improvisation and composition, intersecting and overlapping them.

Joan Saura was a very influential figure in his generation, but his premature disappearance has prevented his music from receiving wider recognition as it deserves. It’s time to reverse the situation, his approach, "freedom is not only a right, but also an obligation" is more necessary than ever. Let’s all be infused with the spirit and music of Joan Saura!"
