Frenetic Magic Sounds:

"Osaka-based synth- and electronica wizard Takahiro Mukai presents another run on his ongoing record array with a selection of analog- heated, raw sound-sculpture approaches.
There is not much said about Mukai's musical pathways over the decades but with more than 60 releases he has grown an interesting documentary catalogue of recordings with which he officially started around 1993. Since then, he has published most of his material with two dozens of DIY-Casette Labels including Oreille Gardée, Paralaxe Editions, Cruel Nature Records or Barreuh Records.

On "Slightly Jarring" his sculptures have a strong character of motoric electronica and repetition, distorted rhythm and unruly oldschool sci-fi reverberations while some of the motifs can be heard appearing several times. All tracks have been captured directly and unprocessed on stereo Recorder like all of Mukai's recordings."
