"Known especially for his absurd, chimerical poetry of invented vocabulary, and for his textures of manipulated percussion, Australia-based James Worse here performs ‘bumbleblack and bobulesque’. In Worse’s characteristic style, the piece interweaves electroacoustics with further lexical forms and misforms. He manages, as ever, to create a peculiar space in which apparent ridiculousness, so constructed and delivered, leads to both hilarity and poignancy, let alone much in between.

Michigan, US-based Chester Winowiecki’s ‘Corved Space’ was recorded under similar circumstances to his 2021 album Safety Precautions – namely, in which he designed a multi-channel speaker and transducer array especially for use with a modified Ciat-Lonbarde Fourses and Dubernator. The piece demonstrates just the same love and mastery of inducing C-L instruments to produce such unrelentingly satisfying chaotic textures. Eerie woodland rattles, sputtering chainsaws half-submerged in soily bogs and all sorts of other such goodness await."
