" gonima has been on the SVNSET WAVES radar for 6 years now, so it is a true, true honor to finally present his new EP, Strands, with you all. The EP features four gorgeously intricate new original tracks from the Montreal-based producer, each fizzling and dissolving into a mesmerizingly complex yet comforting world. I can only imagine that this is what a computer's daydreams might sound like.
In addition to the four original tracks, each song has a coinciding remix. From heoliene's hypnotizingly clicky minimalism, to brakence's super-textural glitch pop, jim kimchi's vast hyper-IDM complexion, and Permutia's goofy illbient banger, this EP truly has something in it for all the glitch heads.
In addition to its digital release, a limited edition cassette will also accompany the release. Be sure to stream the album, support the artists, and pick up a tape.

Often guitar or piano-led pieces, the album marries folk and ambient music in such a gentle and whimsical way, it feels like somehow listening to the most beautiful memories of a cowboy traveling the wild west. Upon my first listen, I immediately felt a connection to my home back on the Texas plains, imagining a quiet night sitting in an open field, lit by a sky full of stars, the grass gently blowing in the breeze. More than anything, I felt this release did that magically special thing that music can sometimes do: take you, for a moment, away from reality, and into a place that makes you appreciate your own experience and the world around you in a new way. What a beautiful feeling to close your eyes and let your imagination take you to some place deeply embedded in your memories - or perhaps your dreams.
