Tokonoma Records:
"Following his 2021 LP ‘This Ain’t Jazz No More’ & 2022 album ‘Sausalito’ Spanish producer Divorce From New York (AKA Alvaro Granda) returns with his brand new LP ‘Brick Lane’ on Madrid’s Tokonoma Records. Known for his work as one half of San Sebastian based production duo Reykjavik606 (who have previously collaborated with the likes of Tenderlonious and Ishmael Ensemble), Granda has previously gained support from Tom Ravenscroft, Jamz Supernova, Don Letts, Benji B, Errol (Touching Bass), John Gomez (NTS Radio) DJ Mag, Ransom Note & many more .
Forthcoming LP ‘Brick Lane’ is one of his most organic creations to date and will appease fans of his as previous two albums – gravitating towards future Jazz sounds, whilst also giving a clear nod to some classic Chicago House sonics. ‘Brick Lane’ sees Granda collaborating with a varied roster of artists including: Parisian producer (and First Word Records signee) Quiet Dawn, South African drummer Fernando Damon, vocalist Sara Zozaya, producer Piek, saxophonist Arturo Martin and keyboard player Jorge Hidalgo and trombonist AFV.
Inspired by the sights and sounds of London’s vibrant underground music ecosystem during a visit last year, Granda weaves grainy field recordings into nine soulful excursions, from the sub-heavy grooves of ‘Copeland Park’ & ‘Brick Lane’, through smokey dive bar ambience of ‘The Pickle Factory’ and ‘Fake Ensemble’, and the club-ready bounce of ‘What’s Jazz’ - this record further cements Divorce From New York’s status as one of Europe’s most versatile and soulful production talents."
