Nick Turner // Under Dark Pines 7" LATHE CUT

アメリカのアンビエント作家Nick Turnerが、2023年4月に同国テキサスの実験レーベルFull Spectrumから20部限定でリリースした7"レースカットです。

Buchlaとアコースティックギター、数台のエフェクターで制作したアンビエント〜ドローン2曲を収録。DLコード付属。 廃盤です。

以下、作家本人による解説です。

"2021年12月、複雑すぎるセットアップで作曲とレコーディングを数年間続けてきた私は、物事を縮小し、最小限のツールで作曲とレコーディングをすることに挑戦した。ウィスコンシン州中央部の森へ小旅行した際、Buchla Music Easel、アコースティックギター、e-bow、ディレイペダル、フィールドレコーダーを使って即興で音楽を作った。いくつかの編集と微調整はポストで行ったが、音の大部分は単純で、最終的には自由な方法でとらえた。このリリースを世に送り出してくれたFull Spectrumチームに感謝する。"

"Under Dark Pines finds Nick Turner in rare form, cutting the music back to the essentials. Acoustic guitar loops bump and drift next to Buchla gurgles. There is a soft elegance to this music. Includes two bonus tracks with an album purchase to complete the EP."

Artist statement by Nick Turner:

" In December 2021, after a few years of composing and recording with overly complicated setups, I challenged myself to pare things down and to write and record some music with a minimal set of tools. While on a short trip to the woods of central Wisconsin, I improvised the music on this album utilizing a Buchla Music Easel, an acoustic guitar, an ebow, a delay pedal, and a field recorder. Some editing and tinkering occurred in post but the majority of the sounds were captured in an uncomplicated and ultimately freeing manner. Much thanks and gratitude to the Full Spectrum team for putting out this release (and wonderful art in general)!"
