"'Songs of the Marsh' is a lush, collaborative album between Henry the Rabbit, Beatrice Morel Journel and Semay Wu. The project began in Copenhagen where Henry the Rabbit began to lay down the foundations with various string and percussive instruments. In Lyon, Beatrice Morel Journel gave her voice and flute whilst Semay Wu was providing the cello parts during her time in Amsterdam. The music was crafted as a soundtrack to the late period in the life of Vincent Van Gogh; inspired by his many letters often illustrated by his reed pen drawings. The titles for the tracks were provided by a page containing a list of paintings Vincent was sending to his brother Theo in Paris 1889. Musically, "Songs of the Marsh" is a melodious interweaving of flutes, soothing vocals, plucked ukuleles and a hearty cello. A fitting and sophisticated tribute to an era-defining artist."
