"TwoPine's River Transmission was created by the banks of the Ohio River. More than just a setting or source of inspiration, the sense of place conveyed by the deft layering of field recordings and melodic elements seems to be almost a musical collaborator for Tayler File on River Transmission.

The album's flow over the course of forty minutes reflects the course of the river, at times flowing steadily, powered by an atmospheric pulse, and at other times ambling and swirling in slow, quiet eddies. Pieces flow into and out of each other with melodic themes interspersed and returning. Throughout, the field recordings made along the river guide the music in its watercourse.

TwoPine's sound here is comprised of gentle, evocative melodies played on a combination of organic and synthetic elements. At times, 8 bit synths chirp alongside what sounds like acoustic guitar, zither, plucked cello, and shamisen. The beats and synth sounds are remarkably well integrated with the acoustic instruments and field recordings, forming a natural and organic sounding whole.

River Transmission is a welcome refuge of calm and clarity in a chaotic time. Never standing still, the music flows steadily on, ever changing but always rooted in a deep sense of place combined with simple, sweet melodies that reflect a wide eyed sense of wonder."
