And then; 'A Quiet Awakening', a fully ambient emanation composed of material created years after 'Deep Ground' was already completed, patiently waiting for its season to arrive.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eAnd so it did, as Purl's third full-length album, with a sound and aura that has continued to echo across most of the now 58 (!) releases to emerge from this first musical guise of mine.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eI will forever be grateful to Jamie McCue for making a home for Purl on Silent Season. There couldn't have been a better one for these misty, shimmery dubs and drones. Jamie has always been deeply supportive, and graciously let me reissue the albums he helped to nurture and grow into the tall trees they eventually became.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eAnd so, to everyone who has wished, either in quiet, or by reaching out to me over the years, to experience 'Deep Ground' on vinyl (which really is the format this album truly belongs on): your wish has now been granted, as these expansive tracks presently extend across 3 glorious black vinyl discs. This long-time dream was made a reality thanks a fan of Purl, who I am endlessly grateful to for supporting the funding of this press, the most expensive project thus far for my label.
