"Japanese guitarist Nobuhide Tsutsuma presents the conceptual record ‘Excavated Blues From a Dream Explorer’; an all-acoustic ode to steel string blues and experimental music - or as Nobuhide puts it: ‘I've been pursuing feeling like an ancient blues musician playing ambient music, the music more excavated rather than played’.

Equipped with only an old 1930s Gibson guitar and a handful of pedals, Nobuhide emulates the sound of start-century blues, but with an experimental approach, creating a more abstract expression than usually associated with the genre.

The sound is like an old dusted archival recording; beautiful lines emerges from the delicate phrases which seemingly slips and stumbles from one note to the next - the sound consistently quivers, cracks and warbles from the old tape, always keeping the listener alert and reminisces of pre century recording methods. The result is a very insistent, sometimes challenging, but all the more interesting and beautiful, listening experience.'
