"Full Spectrum Records presents ‘Endings’ – a final statement for our humble label and what is likely to be the sole recorded document from the Infinite Future Band.

In late June of 2024, a cast of musicians from Full Spectrum’s past and present met at Wind Tide in Littlefield, TX, the location of our de facto headquarters and “home studio” since 2017. Label leads Andrew Weathers and Carl Ritger were there, along with day one collaborators Andrew Marino and Erik Schoster. Chelsey Lee Trejo and Cecyl Ruehlen brought the ensemble to a critical mass, as more recent additions to our operational core.

The sessions themselves were perhaps the most fun any of us have had making a record, filled with joy, appreciation, and our individual attention to the craft of it all. There was certainly a heaviness to the proceedings – winding down a label with 15 years of history tends to warrant its fair share of navel gazing, after all – but we had a blast centering ourselves as an ensemble and finding a collective voice.

Presented as a full-length LP with a supplementary 7” single, ‘Endings’ delivers an idealized encapsulation of the Full Spectrum ethos, balancing between sprawling jams harvested from lengthy improvisations and more structured pieces based on compositions written by various FS artists for a project that never quite coalesced. It’s a rigorous exploration of how we define “experimental music” after many, many years of pedaling the stuff to listeners worldwide, constantly challenging and realigning our own notions of such vague terminology as we grew up alongside the label."
