シンシナティを拠点とするエグゼクティブ・プロデューサーDoctor Bionic（ジェイソン・グリメス）の最新作だ。DJ、プロデューサー、そして90年代のラップグループMOODの元メンバーとして、グリメズの音楽キャリアはヒップホップを中心に展開されている。彼はいつも60年代後半から70年代前半の曲を好んでサンプリングしてきた。「レコードを集め、サンプリングして育つことは、気づくか気づかないかにかかわらず、教育だった」と彼は説明する。

Tune In is due out 11/1/2024 via Chiefdom Records. The second of three installments in the Terrestrial Radio series, it’s a carefully curated collection of instrumental fusion, designed to serve as the perfect radio mix for fans of jazz, hip hop, funk, soul, reggae and beyond.

It’s the latest release from Cincinnati based executive producer Doctor Bionic (Jason Grimez). As a DJ, producer, and former member of 90s rap group MOOD, Grimez’ musical career revolves around hip hop. He’s always preferred to sample songs from the late 60s and early 70s because of the authentic tone. “Growing up collecting and sampling records was an education, whether we realized it or not,” he explained.

Grimez records and produces music using analog gear to emulate the instrumentals that he’s always loved as he works with some of the best musicians in the Cincinnati area to bring his ideas to life. Among others, Jonathan Luck Spaulding and Josh “Mojo” Cole made several appearances on guitar throughout the record."

Thoughtfully, the singer-songwriter invites us to embark on our own saviour. The collection of songs is steeped in artistic and emotional integrity. Production was led and executed by Dhanya Langer, one half of band project Modha, and producer of Juju Rogers’ 2019 album 40 Acres N Sum Mula. Written amid the pandemic, this piece is an effort of immense proportions - experimenting with her sound in time, wading through spirals of arduous personal challenges. ‘A first impression of how my journey sounds.\u003c\/em\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cem\u003eAgadir-born and Hamburg-raised, douniah engages in the practice of interpreting her spirit, impressively, in German, Darija, and English. We find here, a body of work that threads together the tenets of free-form poetry and romanticism, backdropped by neo-experimental jazz tendencies. In euphony, a worldly array of instruments act in symbiosis to carry us through A Lot, Not Too Much. douniah’s voice is one to fall into; her message is enunciated with every word, delivered delicately with an inventory of riffs and ranged tone.
