カナダ・バンクーバーのIDM作家Mount Maxwellが、2026年2月に自身主宰レーベルHotham Soundsから100部限定でリリースしたレコードです。 これまでの作風とは異なるオーガニックなストレンジビーツ〜ポストニューエイジ・アンビエント12曲を収録。DLコード付属。 以下、レーベルによる解説です。 "Mount Maxwellの6作目のアルバムでは、2019年の『Only Children』や2021年の『The People’s Forest』に見られたものよりも、明らかに有機的で実験的な音楽制作アプローチが追求されている。ここではアナログシンセのアルペジオやダウンテンポのビートは脇に置かれ、代わりに木琴、フルート、ハンドヘルド電子機器からなる小編成アンサンブルが用いられている。その結果は、第四世界的な音詩と子ども向けテレビ番組『チルドレンズ・テレビジョン・ワークショップ』の中間地点に位置する。 この試みには遊び心のある触覚性と可塑性が感じられる。個々のトラック（断片に過ぎないものもある）は、それぞれの演奏時間をほとんど気にせず自由に流れ込み、聴けば聴くほどアルバムは方向感覚を失い、迷い込むように感じられる。最初から最後まで素晴らしく奇妙で美しい『Birds of Paradise』は、進化し続けるMount Maxwellのディスコグラフィーに深く魅力的な一作を加える。"...
