FOUNTAINavm:
"Lloyd Miller is an American jazz musician and world music expert who is well known for his research work on Persian music and Afghan music. He can play 100 instruments in 15 jazz, ethnic and world music traditions.
His self-released LPs from the 1960s were among the first to combine Middle Eastern and Asian traditional music with American Jazz. His highly sought after records “Oriental Jazz” and “Jazz at the U of U” were recently re-issued by Egon’s Now Again Records and Vinyl Me Please.
Back in 2010, Lloyd traveled overseas to record an album for STRUT Records, with The Heliocentrics, and the LP quickly became a classic. After spending years in Iran and abroad, Doc Lloyd Miller has been laying low in Salt Lake City, furthering his academic music and religious studies and is currently collaborating with Adam Michael Terry and Ian Camp for FOUNTAINavm."
