Both Vehement Caress and Grutch are projects of Lex Russo out of Massachusetts.

Vehement Caress is a dark ambient / death industrial influenced project. The two VC tracks on this split are both heavily influenced by dark power electronics but show the artists range in the use of a heavier more noisy atmosphere of the first track vs the slow ambient build with distant beats and brooding synth of the second.
Grutch on the other hand is techno with an industrial influence. The first track is fairly strict techno where as the second track has a more trance vibe to it.
This split is a perfect pairing of styles, showing the current trajectory and melding of the experimental techno scene and the influences of power electronics / death industrial.
