Moonchildとしても活動しているラトビア／アメリカのマルチ奏者Andris Mattsonが、2025年12月に自主リリースしたレコードです。

オーバーダブ無しで録音したアンビエント・スピリチュアルジャズ7曲を収録。

以下、レーベルによる解説です。

"「フリューゲルホルンとアコーディオンのハーモニックなインターフェースを融合させる」
それが、2025年の夏、Mattsonが着手したプロジェクトだった。そして、数多くの実験と試行錯誤を経て、「フルコーディオン」が誕生した。その後、この楽器が持つハーモニーや作曲における可能性を探求する長い期間が続いた。

（より制作に重きを置いたアプローチをとっていた）Mattsonのこれまでのアルバムは完成までに数ヶ月から数年を要していたが、『FLUGEL』は違った。彼にとって、フルコーディオンの真髄は、常にライブでワンテイクで演奏される楽器であることにあった。アルバムも、それに付随する短編映画（YouTubeで公開）も、この精神を念頭に置いて制作された。すべてライブ録音で、オーバーダブは一切ない。

『FLUGEL』（ドイツ語で「翼」の意）は、2025年11月に数日間かけて彼のリビングルームで録音され、数週間後にリリースされた。"

From the label:

"Combine the flugelhorn with the harmonic interface of an accordion"
That is what Mattson set out to do in the summer of 2025. And through much experimentation and trial and error, the "flucordion" was born. What followed was an extended period of exploration into the instrument’s harmonic and compositional possibilities.

Whereas previous records by Mattson (with more production heavy approaches) took many months or years to complete, FLUGEL was different. For him, the spirit of the flucordion has always been, at its core, a live, one-take instrument. Both the album and its accompanying short film (released on YouTube) were created with this ethos in mind. All live, no overdubs.

FLUGEL (German for "wing") was recorded in his living room over a few days in November 2025 and released a few weeks later."
