Utopia is now an unincorporated community along the Ohio River at the bottom of Clermont County, Ohio. Multiple Utopian societies were founded on this land in the mid 19th century, with one coming to a tragic end following a deadly flood. Now only a few reminders stand strong in this small hamlet.

He states "Just some background: the photo was taken in 1983, and features students from Denison University who were studying utopian and alternative communities of the 19th century. The professor in the photo is Tony Stoneburner, now deceased. We traveled around Ohio and Kentucky, visiting such places as Zoar, Ohio and Round Hill (Shaker) in Kentucky. " - Nick Keeling
