His teenage years and early 20s found him playing in tech death metal and thrash bands in Portland and Eugene before fully diving into a solo project. A far cry from the aggressive nature of the bands he was previously playing in, lostodyssey embraces a subtle and nuanced sound, finding inspiration in the lush natural textures of the Pacific Northwest. A heavy reliance on self-sampling, borrowed instruments, field recordings, and DIY production techniques have come to define the lostodyssey aesthetic found on his 2014 debut EP 'Early Rise' as well as his 2016 sophomore EP 'THISDREAMSUCKS.'
