"From Tokyo to Glasgow, via London, Vilnius, Marseille, Paris and Bratislava -

That’s one way to describe the jazz-rock journey of the international ensemble Ari Tsugi. After performing 14 shows at this year’s Glastonbury Festival 2025 and receiving airplay on BBC 6 Music, Jazz FM, and support from tastemakers such as Gilles Peterson, Deb Grant and Robbie Vincent, Ari Tsugi are bringing their genre-blending sound to audiences worldwide.

Ari Tsugi weaves a tapestry of sound, blending the improvisational spirit of jazz, the swirling colors of psychedelic rock, and the vibrant rhythms of Brazilian music. This truly international collective unites musicians from France, Scotland, England, Lithuania, Hungary, and Slovakia/Japan. At the heart of their sound is lead vocalist Alma Rechtman, a rising star on the French music scene. Alongside her are Mashu Harada, Clement Gaud, Joe Weisberg, Mischa Stevens and Angus Macdonald, each contributing their unique voice to the group’s rich musical dialogue.

The Brick Lane Jazz Festival describes their performances as warm, kind, and radiating a deep love for music. The band recently played 14 shows at Glastonbury 2025 and earned support from BBC 6 Music’s Deb Grant and Jazz FM's Robbie Vincent.

Their forthcoming album, Ryto Vėjas ir Mėnulis (Lithuanian for Morning Wind and Moon), reflects on the ever-shifting balance between connection and separation that defines the human experience – from falling in love and breaking apart, to family dissolution and reconciliation, and even the broader forces of war and peace. The record was captured in a single live take during a residency in Glasgow under the direction of Lithuanian producer Vilo Jokubaitis, and is available on vinyl and streaming platforms via Slnko Records."
