From the label:

"Ervin Omsk’s new work is titled Der Saal tobt which roughly translates as “The Hall in uproar”. It is an electronic mimicry of an orchestral body, one that could be imagined as a kinetic organism trying to cope with an unreliable setting. While listening we are put in the perspective of an abstract form that practices various motions, it stumbles, dances, rages, fails, rests and seems to laugh. The cumulative effect is an album of bizarre electronic chamber music, a nervous eight-track composition of sampled and mangled instruments, oscillating between abstract and concrete gestures, between tonality and noise.

Within the computers algorithmic environment, every track has been shaped with countless instinctive micro-decisions and shifts — from the first simple recording of an alto recorder undergoing raw cuttings and timestretching, to the more cryptic depths of digital sound synthesis. Yet for all its obvious processing, Der Saal tobt remains intuitive and human, the musical gestures are familiar, like the flow of natural voice or bodily movement."
