Text by George Inman, via the label:

"Porter Brook was born in a city whose influence on electronic music is all too often understated and over looked. A veritable crucible for expansions in low-end that have come to permeate and even define certain corners of contempo rary club music, the rich heritage and sonic history of Sheffield bleeds into his latest release, which arrives via Al Wootton’s Trule imprint.

With two releases on Sheffield’s cult label and club-night Groundwork at the age of 17 (both engineered by Forgemaster’s Rob Gordon) Porter’s sound was already sonically aligned with the steel city way back in 2019. Following a residency at Hope Works and No Bounds festival, Porter Brook returns some three years later with a record which casts a more introspective eye over his exploratory practice.

Underpinned by industrious subharmonic pulsations, and injected with micro-doses of delicate experimentalism, this release, one of a handful on the label to not be produced by Al Wootton, aims to respectfully honour the heritage and influence of Sheffield on techno and bass music, whilst keeping one eye firmly set on the future and what comes next."
