"MF DOOMのインストゥルメンタル・ヒップホップシリーズの中でも最も広範なシリーズのひとつである『Special Herbs』には、シリーズ限定のものから、彼自身や他のミュージシャンのために制作したお気に入りのビートを少しリワークしたものまで、彼のビートが山のように集められている。Metal Fingersという別名義でリリースされた『Special Herbs』は、Super Villanに有利なゲームのルールを絶えず破り、再解釈するDOOMの影響力の大きいサウンドを捉えることに成功している。70年代のソウル／ファンク・クラシック、80年代のR&Bヒット、ラップ・ノスタルジア、さらには子供向けレコードやTVのサウンドバイトまで、彼のレシピを完成させるために必要な素材はすべて、世界はサウンドの宝庫であり、メタルフィンガーのDOOMは制限を受け入れない。"
