モロッコ・カサブランカの実験／ダンス作家Karimが、2026年6月に自身主宰レーベルTikitaからリリースした2枚組12"です。 ポリリズムが押し寄せる実験トライバル・トランス9曲を収録。 最後のトラック以外はキックが入りません。 以下、レーベルによる解説です。 "デビュー・アルバム『Lila』において、モロッコ出身のアーティスト、Karimは、モザイク状に組み合わされた形にレーザー彫刻されたかのような、うねるようなエレクトロニック・リズムの数々を提示している。これは、サハラ以北の地から生まれたドラムレス・テクノであり、共同体の精神的な拡張のために構築されたものだ。 ドラムレスではあるが、パーカッションがないわけではない。シェイカー、カスタネット、鋭い音がそこにある。力強く前進し、エネルギーを脈打たせ、リズムに合わせて波打つ、執拗なベースラインがある。互いに噛み合い、転がり、はためく音色がある。それらは互いの内側で、周囲で、そして互いの間を踊るように響き合う。純粋な幾何学的な観点から言えば、『Lila』は紛れもなくテクノのレコードだ。しかし、そのサウンドは、最近耳にしたどのテクノレコードとも全く異なる。 このアルバム制作にあたり、Karimはグナワ音楽から着想を得た。グナワ音楽とは、何百年も前に奴隷としてモロッコに連れてこられた西アフリカの人々の子孫に受け継がれてきた、宗教的・精神的な音楽の伝統である。今やモロッコ文化に深く根付いたグナワ音楽の中心にあるのが「リラ」——アラビア語で「夜」を意味する——である。これは、参加者と演奏者双方を癒しのトランス状態へと誘うために設計された、一晩中続くリズムの儀式だ。熱心なレイバーなら、どこか聞き覚えがあるかもしれない、そうだろう？ モジュラーシンセサイザーのみで制作された『Lila』は、幅広い質感とムードを醸し出している。ショーは「Bakh」で幕を開ける。ビートのない至福のエクササイズであり、その音は澄み渡り、水晶のように透明だ。「Philipoussis」、「Kiyex」、「Sonic」では、アルペジオを奏でるシンセがグナワの詠唱を彷彿とさせ、その間に織り交ぜられたパーカッションが複数の拍子でリズムを刻む。「La」と「Kille」はハーフタイムで脈打っており、クリエイティブなミキシングに最適だ。「Joul à lèvre」は、帯電した避雷針のような音色で、電気的な緊張感に満ちている。「Pamil」は、ふらつきながらよろめくような感覚で、忘れ去られた島に難破したかのような気分にさせる。そして最後を飾る、決して見逃せない最終トラック「Miloir」では、カリムは西を向き、アルバム唯一のキックドラムを炸裂させ、10分間にわたるサイケデリック・テクノの傑作を繰り広げる。意識は歪み、体は自然と動き出す。 『Lila』は、2014年にKarimが設立した自身のレーベル、Tikitaからリリースされる。Tikitaのディスコグラフィーは、数は少ないが厳選されたラインナップで、テクノの最深部へと突き進む世界中のアーティストをフィーチャーしている。Karimのこのアルバムは、さらにその先へと突き進む。ぜひ、ご自身の耳で確かめてほしい。" Tikita · Karim...
