"『Field of Coincidence』は、ロサンゼルスを拠点とするアーティスト、ジェシー・パールスタイン（Sontag Shogun、AxOxH）とマイケル・ロバート・チャドウィック（Fake Sword、Plum Professional）、通称Trellisによるコラボレーションを記録したデビュー作だ。

アンビエントを基調としつつも、これらの楽曲はポップな構成、自然環境の録音、エフェクトを多用したサウンドデザインを取り入れ、抽象的な聴覚的演劇の中で情感豊かな物語を紡ぎ出している。重なり合うボーカルとハーモニックなアナログシンセサイザーの群れの中に、AI主導のアルゴリズム全盛のこの時代において、新鮮に感じられる温かみのある音色がこれらのトラックにはある。

これは実験室で設計されたシンセアルバムでも、完璧にグリッド化されたシーケンサーで作られたものでもない。このレコード全体に散りばめられた微妙な不完全さやアナログ特有の音響的アーティファクトは、これが人間による音楽であり、人々（友人同士が共に）によって、人々のために作られたものであることを思い出させてくれる。Hiroshi Yoshimuraの1982年の『Music for Nine Postcards』や、愛され続ける1984年のテープ作品『Watering a Flower』と同様に、この音楽は、ランプの灯る家庭的な空間のプライベートな親密さの中に、繊細な壮大さを見出している。

『Field of Coincidence』はゆっくりと流れ、密かに高まり、小節の折り返しごとに生命の輝きを放つ。時に暗く陰鬱に、時に調和のとれた水晶のように澄み渡り、この多彩な楽曲群は、実り多い最初の試みから芽吹いたプロジェクトの深みと幅広さを示している。"

"Field of Coincidence is the debut recording documenting the collaboration between LA-based artists Jesse Perlstein (Sontag Shogun, AxOxH) and Michael Robert Chadwick (Fake Sword, Plum Professional), aka Trellis.

Although ambient in scope, these pieces employ pop structures, natural environmental recordings, and FX-laden sound design, to tell emotive stories in abstract auditory theatre. Between swarms of vocal layering and harmonic analog synthesizers, there's a timbral warmth to these tracks that feels refreshing in this AI-driven age of algorithm.

This is not a synth album designed in a laboratory, nor on a perfectly grid-mapped sequencer, the subtle blemishes and analog acoustic artifacts that populate this record throughout serve to remind us that this is human music, made by people (friends, together), for people. Like Hiroshi Yoshimura's 1982 "Music for Nine Postcards" and his beloved 1984 tape "Watering a Flower", this music finds a delicate grandiosity in the private intimacy of a lamplit domestic space.

Field of Coincidence flows slowly, builds in secret, and glitters with life around every measure's bend. At times dark and brooding, at others consonant and crystalline, this multi-hued suite of songs showcases the depth and range of a project burgeoning out of its fruitful first pursuit."
